Indulge: A Wine, Cheese and Chocolate Affair will take place Saturday, Jan. 23 at West End Architectural Salvage, 22 S.W. 9th St. The evening runs from 4 to 9 p.m. and will have live entertainment and wines from around the world that are paired with local artisan cheeses and chocolates. Gala scheduled
The Civic Music Association will celebrate its 85th Anniversary on Saturday, Jan. 23 with an Anniversary Gala and concert featuring the Russell Malone Quartet. A cocktail and silent auction will begin at 5:30 p.m. and guests will dine at 6:30 p.m. The Russell Malone Quartet will take the stage in Sheslow Auditorium on Drake University’s campus at 8 p.m. Gala tickets are $85. March to the Statehouse

Stop hunger in Des Moines
Urban Ambassadors and Food and Faith: A Call to Action will host “Hope for the Hungry: Feeding Greater Des Moines” on Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, 12321 Hickman Road. The event will provide participants information on starting your own garden or community food program. Donate PJs to end domestic violence
The Des Moines Police Department, Dahls Food and the Rotary Club of Des Moines are partnering with Helen’s Pajama Party to collect new pajamas for victims of domestic violence.
