Dec. 20, 2:30 a.m.
Assault in the 4600 block of Merle Hay Road. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated he had been punched in the face by an unknown male while trying to break a fight between the unknown male and a Perkins employee. The unknown group of males left the restaurant in an unknown direction when they were told law enforcement was on the way. The suspect had allegedly been to Perkins before. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
Dec. 20, 9:48 p.m.
Robbery in the 3100 block of University Avenue. Upon arrival, an officer met with the victim who is an employee at the store. The victim stated he observed two black males walk into the store and linger around before walking to the cooler and grabbing bottles of wine. The victim said he told the males they weren’t leaving the store with the wine, and then one of suspects put a bottle into his coat. The victim stated he came from behind the counter with a large club like stick and tried to stop them. Both suspects started threatening the victim by making gestures with their hands and saying they were going to hurt him. The suspects then left the store. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
Dec. 21, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Burglary in the 2300 block of East Grand Avenue. The victim reported she returned to her home after shopping and found the west side of her door damaged. When she entered, her east side window in living room was busted and opened. In her bedroom, all her drawers were pulled out and dumped on the bed. The victim stated three rings valued at approximately $1,800 were missing. The suspect left large footprints in the snow outside the garage and by the sidewalk. There are no suspect(s) at this time. Busted
Name: Ronald Eugene Lester
The story: Officers made contact with the victim, who stated her father, later identified as Lester, came over to the house after a heated argument and slapped and punched her in the face. The victim said Lester tossed her into the bathtub and hit her. The victim said the fight started after someone mentioned Lester’s girlfriend being a slut. Officers observed swelling and bruising on the victim’s face. Officers went to Lester’s house and arrested him without incident. Lester was charged with assault causing injury.
