A Christmas classic
As part of an annual tradition, we bring you Robert Hullihan’s Christmas classic this week as our cover story. Each year we publish this piece, I receive numerous e-mails and letters from many of you thanking me for doing so. And we are pleased to oblige.
Hullihan was a staff writer for The Des Moines Register in the ’70s. This story first published there and years later in The Ames Tribune. We brought it to the pages of Cityview three years ago and added a new twist last year with illustrations from Brian Duffy. With fresh images from Duffy and a new layout, we are pleased to present this story once again as we all celebrate the holiday season.
