Des Moines Police Nov. 15-16


Nov. 15, 9 p.m.
Robbery and assault in the 100 block of Hull Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated that he was doing dishes in his kitchen when he turned around and saw a skinny black male in his house. The victim said the suspect attacked him with a hammer, striking him multiple times in the arms, legs and on the head. The suspect yelled, “Where’s the money?” The victim said he laid on the ground until his wife returned home and took him to the hospital. The victim said he didn’t know the suspect, and it appeared that the suspect didn’t take anything. There is no suspect at this time.

 

Nov. 15-16, 9 p.m. 9 a.m.
Burglary in the 2000 block of East 40th Street. The victim believes he left his door unlocked and someone entered the duplex and stole his prescription medication. The victim stated that this has happened before. There are no suspect(s) at this time.

 

Nov. 16, 1:45 p.m.
Assault in the 4800 block of Aurora Avenue. The victim stated that when she was walking to school, the suspects yelled at her and after school while in the parking lot, the suspects tried to run her over with a vehicle. The victim said that when she got into her friend’s car, she was followed to a house where one suspect opened the victim’s car door and punched and kicked her in the face approximately six times. The suspect then closed the door and took off. The victim sustained a bruised and swollen right eye. The victim stated that she knows the suspects and that this has been an ongoing problem. Officers were unable to locate the suspects. CV

 

Busted

Name: Krystol Dawn Bevers
The story: Officers met an employee who explained that another witness and he had observed a white female, later identified as Bevers, entering a dressing room with several items. When Bevers exited the dressing room, none of the items could be found. The two witnesses discovered that Bevers was wearing one of the items, and the other item was in her purse. The items were valued at $32.98. As the two escorted Bevers back to the Loss Prevention Office, Bevers became upset and combative. As one witness tried to handcuff Bevers, she punched him in the face. Upon arrival, officers handcuffed Bevers and she was transported to the Polk County Jail and charged with fifth-degree theft and simple assault.
