Defining sexiness
Want some betrayal with those potatoes?
Some of you will be reading this prior to Thanksgiving and will be able to add meaningful discussion to the typical dinner table talk of food, weather and football.
Others of you will read this after the holiday and may feel a bit of guilt in retrospect.
Either way, our goal this week is to provide an alternative view of Thanksgiving, one from the mindset of the American Indian.
Freelance reporter Douglas Burns reports in our cover story on how many Indians view the Thanksgiving holiday, and how they continue to battle the stereotypes and numerous — and very serious — social dangers. Take that with your seconds of turkey.
Burns continues the discussion in “Political Mercury,” where the addresses the alarming suicide rate among American Indians. You’ll find these and all your favorites in this week’s Cityview.
Thanks for reading. CV
