City council watch

The Des Moines City Council has begun the annual process of preparing its budget, which includes projected shortfalls of approximately $11 million over the next two fiscal years. The Des Moines City Council hopes to cut approximately $5.7 million to the 2010-11 budget, and another $5.3 million shortfall is projected the following year. The Des Moines City Council has set up a submission page at www.dmgov.org for suggestions on issues and funding to help determine budget priorities for the next budget year. CV
