Sip and sample at expo
Iowa’s Premier Wine and Food Expo will take place Friday, Nov. 13 and Saturday, Nov. 14 at Hy-Vee Hall, 730 Third St. The event will feature more than 100 exhibitors, 30-minute cooking demonstrations, a sampling zone and wine shop. The expo will also feature celebrity chef appearances by Duff Goldman from the Food Network’s “Ace of Cakes” and Andrew Zimmern of the Travel Channel’s “Bizarre Foods.” The expo begins at noon on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Dolls, bears and toys invade Fairgrounds
The sixth Annual Fall Des Moines Doll, Bear and Toy Sale will take place Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Walnut Center Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, E. 30th and University. Find more than 100 tables of antique, modern, collectible and one-of-a-kind dolls, artists bears, vintage toys and action figures. PPYL to host annual fundraiser
