We need revolutionary leaders

I would like to debate Kent Carlson about his views on Health care and Insurance reform (“Rx for failure,” Nov. 5), but it probably wouldn’t do any good. I’m sure he would find more numbers to throw at me and use self discovered and misinterpreted facts to make his argument, like the political entertainers and perpetually skeptical multitude that are bombarding us about everything Obama.

My only argument could be this — you did not get the message of the last election. Right or wrong, expensive or cheap, fearful or confident, the voters want change. They proved there are a lot more people in America who do not like the way things are going than who want to keep the status quo alive.

I think it is time for revolutionary change in our system, and we need revolutionary thinkers and leaders. Kent, you can try and preserve the past, but our heritage is defined by how we have met and overcome challenges for the people.

A small business owner who never fed from the government trough

One need not read far into the socialistic mindset of Greg Lee (“Middle class should not subsidize the wealthy,” Oct. 29) to have adequately deduced he is “a ward of the state” because he seems devoid of the fact that the “private sector” contains more than just the “principal financials” and “wealthy land owners” of this world to which he refers.

Lets trample and discourage that free enterprise system to the degree that there is no incentive to risk entry, then we will all be on the “level playing field” where everyone is given the same subsistence administrated by the state because the free market system will no longer exist. Oh wait, what’s that word? Can you say communism?

When you overtax, legally filch from and place undue burden on employers, they cease to exist. But then why would I expect someone who never ran a business or met a payroll to fathom that?
