The Des Moines City Council recently approved $2,963 for Tom Vlassis, councilperson, to attend the annual National League of Cities conference in San Antonio, Texas, from Nov. 9 to 15. Vlassis will serve as the City’s representative. The council also approved $1,956 for Det. Raymond Carrington to attend an interviewing and interrogation school in Kansas City, Mo., from Nov. 15 to 19. The amount expended for travel for the 2010 fiscal year is $113,987 as of Oct. 19.
