The end of the world – as we know it?
Whether one has religious faith, an adherence to science, or an attraction to Hollywood movies, the end of the world offers an intriguing yet unnerving discussion. It is inevitable, yes, but the real question is when. Jared Curtis shares the latest round of hype that focuses on Dec. 21, 2012, as the “End of Days” in this week’s cover story. With the Mayan calendar, the Bible, the I Ching, Roman oracles, the Hopi Indian tribe, computer projects and NASA officials all pointing to change on that date, maybe we should pay attention.
